Web Searching Strategies in Plain English



The web search strategies in plain english is designed to help understand seaching on the web.  It's purpose is to help aid in searching, and giving general information to help make searching the web more efficient and fun all at the same time. Below are a few definitions to help understand some of the terms that we hear and see, and do not quite understand exactly what it is.

What is the Web? The Web also known as the "WWW", is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the internet.  With a browser, one can view pages on the internet that contains images, videos, and text.

What is a Browser? A browser is a software used for retrieving, presenting, and transversing information and resources on the World Wide Web.

What is a Search Engine? A search engine is designed to search information on the World Wide Web, and help the user to access exactly what they are looking for. The search engine can also give more than one source to fing information.

These are just a few of the terms that we see and hear and sometimes we do not fully understand. They are to help understand  exactly what they mean in plain english.  In order to be effective in searching the web, first we have to understand exactly what we are doing.
